Role overview
Our client is an international law firm with a growing disputes practice in DIFC. Due to growth in the team, the firm is looking to hire a Senior Associate or Legal Director (Counsel) to support its commercial and construction disputes practice in Dubai. The successful candidate will run high-value, cross-border matters across the region day to day, with real involvement in case strategy and client relationships. This is a strong opportunity for a disputes lawyer with regional experience to be part of a growing and dynamic practice.
Key responsibilities
- Run commercial and construction disputes from instruction through to award
- Draft pleadings, submissions and witness evidence in DIAC, ICC and LCIA arbitrations
- Advise clients on claims, risk and settlement strategy
- Supervise and develop junior lawyers in the team
- Build client relationships and contribute to business development
- Support the wider disputes practice on contentious matters as required
Candidate profile
- Common law qualified with 7 to 10 years' PQE
- Trained at an international law firm
- Strong commercial and construction disputes experience, including international arbitration
- Middle East disputes experience essential, ideally gained in the UAE or wider GCC
- Ambitious, commercially minded and keen to help grow the practice
