2026 UAE Legal Salary Survey

Understanding what the market is actually paying and why it matters for the decisions you’re making right now.

Private practice

Compensation for private practice lawyers across the UAE has shifted meaningfully in recent years. This section covers associate through to partner-level benchmarks across international and regional firms, including corporate and M&A, banking and finance, capital markets, dispute resolution, construction and real estate.

In-house counsel

In-house roles across the region range widely in structure and reward, as a result, the market for strong legal counsel has never been more competitive. This section covers junior counsel through to General Counsel and CLO level, across corporate, financial services, energy, technology and real estate.

What we’re seeing in 2026

Demand remains strong across the region, and compensation is rising in the areas where talent is hardest to find. Mid to senior lawyers with the right experience and the right profile are in a genuinely strong position.

For firms and legal teams, retention has become as important as recruitment. The lawyers who feel valued, respected and supported tend to stay. Those who don’t, won't. What often matters most is transparency and honesty.

A note on the data

This survey is built on what we see and hear through our conversations and network.

All figures are indicative ranges. Every situation is different, and we would always rather have a proper conversation than point you to a number. If something in the survey prompts a question, please do get in touch.
