Role overview
Our client is a high-growth global investment platform headquartered in the UAE with over $4 billion in assets under management. Backed by one of the most experienced private equity leaders in the region, the firm operates globally with a focus on large-cap investments across a range of sectors. With a growing focus on investment flows between the GCC and Greater China, they are expanding their in-house legal team and are seeking a Corporate Lawyer with native or near-native Mandarin Chinese to support cross-border transactional work across both markets.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and execute cross-border corporate transactions including M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments, fund structures and large-scale commercial agreements bridging GCC and Chinese counterparties
- Manage structured negotiations across two cultures, providing pragmatic, commercially calibrated advice that holds up at board level on both sides of the table
- Draft and negotiate transaction documentation to a standard expected by senior stakeholders in both jurisdictions
- Build and shape the bilingual corporate workstream as the organisation's Greater China focus continues to grow
Candidate profile
- Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin, both written and spoken
- Fluent in professional English as the primary deal and drafting language
- From a strong top-tier private practice background in corporate and M&A (Magic Circle, leading US or international firm)
- Bringing in-house experience at a multinational or large corporate
- Experienced working in the GCC, with a working understanding of UAE corporate law and the DIFC and ADGM frameworks
