Role overview
A leading US-headquartered international law firm with a well-established presence in the Middle East is seeking a junior Financial Regulatory Lawyer to join their Dubai office. The firm has a strong reputation across financial services, funds and regulatory work globally, and is looking to strengthen its regulatory offering in the region. Applications are welcome from candidates currently based in the UAE and from those relocating from the UK or other major markets.
Key responsibilities
- Advise banks, asset managers, fintechs and other financial institutions on regulatory matters across the DIFC, ADGM and onshore UAE frameworks
- Support clients on licensing applications, regulatory approvals and ongoing compliance obligations with the DFSA, FSRA and UAE Central Bank
- Advise on regulatory aspects of financial products, including funds, derivatives, digital assets and payment services
- Assist with regulatory investigations, enforcement matters and remediation exercises
- Draft regulatory submissions, compliance policies and client-facing guidance notes
- Work closely with the firm's corporate, funds and banking teams on the regulatory dimensions of transactional mandates
Candidate profile
- UK qualified (solicitor or barrister) with up to 2 years' PQE in financial regulation
- Trained at or currently working at a recognised international law firm or financial regulator (FCA, PRA or equivalent)
- Technically strong with a grounding in UK or international financial regulatory frameworks
- Interested in relocating to, or already based in, the UAE, with a genuine appetite to build a career in the region
- A clear and precise communicator with strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Proactive and intellectually curious, comfortable working across a range of regulatory issues in a fast-moving practice
