Role overview

Our client is a major Abu Dhabi-headquartered technology group operating across artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure and data services, with operations spanning more than 30 countries. Backed by some of the region's most prominent institutional investors, the group has grown rapidly and operates within a complex, multi-entity corporate structure. They are seeking a Senior Corporate Commercial Lawyer with a genuine technology background to join their in-house legal team.l.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide corporate advisory and commercial legal support across the group's holding and operating entities, covering structuring, governance, joint ventures and strategic partnerships
  • Advise on corporate governance frameworks, board matters, shareholder arrangements and group restructuring
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including technology licensing, SaaS arrangements, data processing agreements and vendor contracts
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance considerations across multiple jurisdictions, with particular focus on data sovereignty, AI governance and technology regulation
  • Support strategic transactions and investment activity at group level, working alongside specialist M&A counsel where required
  • Act as a trusted legal adviser to senior leadership, translating complex legal and regulatory risk into practical commercial guidance
  • Liaise with and manage external counsel across jurisdictions

Candidate profile

  • Common law qualified with 8+ years' PQE in corporate and commercial law
  • Bringing a technology angle to the role, whether through a prior career in technology, an IT or engineering degree, or meaningful in-house experience within a technology company
  • From a recognised law firm (UK or international) or with a strong blend of private practice and in-house experience
  • Experienced in corporate advisory, structuring and governance work rather than purely M&A-focused
  • Commercially confident with the ability to operate at senior stakeholder level across a complex group structure
  • Familiar with the legal and regulatory landscape around technology, data and AI, or demonstrably able to get up to speed quickly
  • Interested in working within one of the most dynamic and fast-scaling technology groups in the region
