Role overview
A leading international law firm with a well-established capital markets practice in the Middle East is seeking a senior ECM lawyer to join their Riyadh office at Counsel level. The firm is at the centre of the Kingdom's IPO and equity capital markets activity and needs someone who brings not just technical excellence but genuine relationships with the Saudi regulator and a deep understanding of how business is done in Riyadh.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage equity capital markets transactions including IPOs, rights issues, secondary offerings and equity-linked instruments on Tadawul and other regional exchanges
- Act as the primary relationship holder with the Capital Market Authority (CMA) and other relevant Saudi regulatory bodies
- Advise issuers, underwriters and financial institutions on Saudi securities law, listing rules and ongoing disclosure obligations
- Manage complex, multi-party transactions from structuring through to execution and closing
- Contribute to business development and client origination, leveraging existing relationships across the Saudi market
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers within the practice
Candidate profile
- Common law or dual-qualified with substantial post-qualification experience in equity capital markets
- Bringing a demonstrable deal history across Saudi ECM transactions, with direct experience engaging with the CMA
- From a top-tier international law firm with a credible capital markets practice
- Possessing genuine presence and gravitas, with an understanding of how Riyadh works commercially and culturally
- A relationship-builder with an established network across the Saudi financial and regulatory landscape
- Prepared to be based in Riyadh on a long-term basis
