Role overview
Our client is a well-known international offshore law firm with a busy banking and finance practice in Dubai. The firm is looking to hire a paralegal to support its finance team on a broad range of transactional banking and finance work. Due to the firm's regulatory structure, paralegals take on a level of responsibility and client-facing work that would typically fall to junior associates at other firms, making this a substantive and rewarding role for the right candidate. The position suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume transactional environment and is looking for genuine hands-on experience in international banking and finance work. This is a paralegal role rather than a route to qualification, and candidates should be attracted by the quality of the work and the level of exposure on offer.
Key responsibilities
- Support the finance team on general banking and finance transactions, including loan facilities, security packages and ancillary documentation
- Assist with transaction management, document coordination and closing mechanics across multiple concurrent matters
- Draft and review transactional documents under supervision, with increasing responsibility over time
- Liaise with clients, counterparties and external counsel as part of the transaction process
- Manage due diligence processes, condition precedent checklists and post-completion deliverables
- Maintain transaction records and assist with matter administration in a high-volume practice
Candidate profile
- Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience in a banking and finance or transactional practice
- Some exposure to banking or finance transactions is beneficial
- Excellent attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to manage a demanding workload
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- No Arabic language requirement; the client base and work are predominantly international
