Role overview
Our client is a top-tier international law firm with one of the leading project development and construction practices in the Middle East. The firm is looking to hire a Senior Associate to join the team in Dubai, advising developers, contractors, government entities and lenders on major infrastructure and construction projects. The work runs from procurement and contract structuring through to dispute avoidance and claims, across energy, transport, social infrastructure and large real estate developments. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction and project development lawyer who wants high-profile work, close partner contact and a clear route to progression.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate EPC, design and build, O&M and other construction and engineering contracts
- Advise on concession agreements, development agreements and joint venture structures
- Act for employers, contractors and subcontractors on infrastructure, energy and real estate projects
- Advise on procurement strategy, including bespoke and FIDIC-based contract suites
- Support project finance transactions where construction risk is a key issue
Candidate profile
- Around 7 to 10 years' PQE
- Project development and construction background from a recognised international law firm
- Experience of major infrastructure, energy or real estate projects in the GCC or wider Middle East
- Confident with FIDIC contracts and bespoke procurement documentation
- Able to run complex, multi-party matters with a high degree of independence
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with direct client contact
